Desordre is unabashedly young and fun, just like its owners, Shannon Thomas and Lucinda Connery, 2 gorgeous young girls full of life and they live for fashion. Don’t be mistaken, fashion is serious business around here, but that’s doesn’t stop it being fun. From the selection (huge), to the sign in the window (hilarious), to the accessories (fantastic), everything is considered yet light hearted. The amount of clothes at Desordre is big, yet everytime I go in, the selection seems to be completely different.

Carrying mostly Australian designers, with a smattering of boutique international labels, everything is hand picked and unique. With such a variety of labels and styles, the store is surprisingly cohesive and that’s simply Shannon and Lucy working their magic. The girls are daring buyers, they will always pick some statement pieces from each collection, you know, those fun pieces that we fall in love with on the runway but rarely make it into production, they are in Desordre waiting for you.

Shopping at Desordre is also light hearted and fun. The girls will ask you about what you are looking for and if you need it for any specific occasion. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed, it’s really more like going shopping with your always stylish best friend.

Hidden downstairs is a fantastic selection of menswear that most people don’t know about. Girls, listen up, this is a boyfriend friendly store. The menswear selection is great, full of blokey pieces with fun twists that your boyfriend will actually love and buy. No need to feel guilty while he waits for you to shop now!

Shopping – Parlour X

Nestled on a gorgeous leafy street in Paddington’s Fiveways, Parlour X has long been a go to shop for the fashionistas of Sydney’s eastern suburbs. Stocking a mix of amazing international designers like Isabel Marant, Balenciaga, Comme des Garcons and heaps more, combined with the impeccable taste and selection by store owner Eva Galambos, the result is simply to die for. No seriously, I say OMG about 50 times whenever I go into the store.

The boutique itself is stunning too, a classic white terrace house with black accents, it has that manicured Parisian feel. Inside it’s all bright and welcoming with wooden floors, white walls and a couple of antique jewellery cabinets carrying the Parisian feel through. But really, everyone’s there for the clothes and clothes they have! Parlour X’s selection is ever changing and evolving with the seasons and their customers’ needs. From statement dresses, to investment pieces, to classic staples, they’ve got you covered.

I should also mention the staff at Parlour X, Eva treats her staff like family and in turn, her wonderful team of sales girls make for a great shopping experience. Professional yet friendly, shopping at Parlour X is always such a treat.
